Speaker, Jeff Shumate
Jeff is a native of Virginia and a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He began his advertising career with Capital One financial in Northern Virginia and then moved on to MasterCard International in Atlanta where he was responsible for relationship management and marketing of credit card portfolios for major financial institutions such as Bank of America and Sun Trust. Jeff then moved back to Virginia to launch markets for NEXTEL in Virginia, Tennessee and West Virginia. After 6 years with NEXTEL, Jeff had the opportunity to utilize his marketing skills with IMG/Virginia Tech sports marketing signing multi-million dollar deals with brands such as Smithfield Foods, Toyota Motor Company and Virginia 529. The opportunity to further utilize digital advertising technology presented itself with Raycom Digital and WMBF News here is Myrtle Beach. Currently, he is Director of Digital Sales for WMBF News. In the past 4 years, the department has been able to sustain consistent revenue growth of 28% a year.
